The Justice Department today released U.S. to shelve for the agent in the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) accused of murdering the teenager Juárez 15 years, Sergio Adrian Hernandez Guereca, on the border in 2010. The District Attorney's Office in Texas said that there was "sufficient evidence" to bring charges against the officer, after a two-year investigation of the incident in one channel of the US-Mexico border. "The Justice Department conducted a comprehensive and thorough investigation into the shooting, which occurred when smugglers trying to make an illegal crossing threw stones at close range CBP agent," said the institution. The incident at the time attracted wide attention in Mexico, since a group of residents filmed the murder when the officer tried to arrest several youths who sought to return to Mexico.
